"Alaway complain" is the best policy. I got In-state tution for my wife and fought with the university for 4 months. Their rule said - You have to be a resident alien to get in-state. They assumed (because it brought more money) that only Green Card holders are resident aliens. I proved to them with documentation that H-1B and H4 are "non-permanent resident alien" for immigration status and resident alien for IRS tax purposes.
After 4 months university called me saying your wife would get in-state. They never gave it in writing....they still charge out of state to H4 candidates. So that you know, it is 3 times higher than in-state.
Only problem is ---after 7-8 years in this country I am getting tired of fighting these useless battles. I want to put my energy somewhere else, something more creative.
Like someone else suggested, I would never tell that I have EAD. Just say, I am authorized to work for any employer.

So, the IO just called? Did you raise any SR/file complaint with ombudsman/enquire through congressman?
our applications were supposedly approved today. IO called home around 7:30AM.
Dependent case is being worked on though..he said we should get approval notice in 3 days.
I am just waiting for approval notice now..hmm..its a different wait :D:D

Just a thought. I think something is holding back folks to write up these letters directly to president. Do you guys think it's a good idea just to have these letters mailed to IV and then pass it along to white house administration when IV meets them.

Even if you are on a 24.99, you will have to call up the customer service (or go online) to change your plan to something called a "World plan" (which is also 24.99), then you will not see any charges for international calls.

Kaiser started this new rule to not hire folks on EADs as of last week.
I thought, this may be the work of various vendors who fear of losing lot of their employees jumping to the Client as Full time employees. Dont know actual reason yet.

Thats is waht they say.. But their actions always show that they are against ALL immigration. Some of us have been looking at them for a while now. As you can see, they DO NOT support the letter campaign.

I doubt that. Medical was relaxed since it can take time for people to get the medicals done. Also immigration doctors were all busy at this time. So it is possible that people arent able to get the meds done by the Aug 17 deadline. The other documents like EVL shouldnt take this long. If the employer is willing to provide future employment to someone then it should be sent along with the application. Whether USCIS will relax for lack of Initial Evidence other than Medical is hard to say. It is always better to be safe than sorry.
But I agree, these two things are different. Only medicals have been relaxed by USCIS via its press release. Since a lot of the lawyers have sent without some initial evidence, AILA should use its proven;-) negotiation skills to get USCIS to issue a new press release which ascertains that only singatures and filing fees are required at this time.

Hi,
Can anyone share their expert views on this scenario.
Say, I have approved I-140 (current PD) from employer A (never worked with). Work with employer B in a different. Now if employer A applies for I-485 and after it is pending for 6 months, Can I invoke AC21 to continue the GC process while still with employer B ?
Also is it possible to have 2 separate I-485 filed from different employers.
I have heard the above is possible. But, I am curious as to how AC21 is interpreted. Isn't AC21 essentially an instrument to change jobs without hampering the GC process. In this case since one is not 'really switching jobs' how will this be treated or possible ?

I am surprised that all other threads are getting updated quite frequently. People are posting question related to their RFE and as usual once they get answer to their problems, they vanish. People are posting jokes on IV, but when it is their turn to call, we've to "bump" this thread and send e-mails to members. So pathetic.
I felt very sad when I read 30000+ members donated some 4000 dollars in last two months. I felt my donation of about 1000 dollars since 2006 is being wasted to answer questions of or to solve the problems of these free riders &/or one question members.

Hi Friends,
I am really sick and tired of my attorney. He is making money out of immigrants but he does not like immigrants based on our dicussion.
I think we are very well educated and can easily take care of 485 filing.
My attorney will charge me at least $3000 for it although I got his referral from AILA. On top of that he delays filing my PERM and 140 and having serious attitude problem.
I can easily take care of 485 filing by myself.
My only and great concern is- Is my attorney can screw up my GC processing if I fire him and file 485 on my own?

I doubt that the lawyer would purposely hurt a former client. Its not just unethical, its really malpractice. And its not like lawyers done get fired and they cant handle getting fired.
However, please do make sure that you have all documents that you need to do your own 485 filing. If there are some documents like 140 approval or other stuff that only he has, then you will have to get it out of him, which he just might delay (a little) in case if he is an absolute nut job.
For me, I dont care what the lawyer thinks of immigrants as long as the job is done in a TIMELY manner without mistakes. If he hates immigrants and votes for Jeff Sessions, I dont care about it. All I want is TIMELINESS and ERROR FREE job. After that, he can hate anyone he wants and stick pins in voodoo dolls of immigrants.
