People didn't seem to care about the "gay plague" because it only affected gays. People cared about Ryan White and the Ray brothers, they didn't care about iniquitous obnoxious gays and lesbians.

They did what had to be done in a time when nobody wanted to acknowledge what was happening. And they also tried to fight the ignorance that was associated with the disease..IE..."gay plague". Is a "test tube baby" (I do hope you know there are much more modern ways) by a gay/lesbian any less than that of a straight person? Does it matter how we are having them? The point is that we are. Is there a way to set iPhoto '11 to import just photos from my iPhone and not the videos? I have iPhoto '09 and apparently there is no way to prevent it from importing videos unless you manually deselect them. I want to be able to just connect my iPhone and sync just the photos off automatically. Then open iMovie and sync the videos off.
I know you can do this with Aperture but how about the new iPhoto?

Ehh... The Atari Flashback 2 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FAtari-Flashback-2-Plug-Play%2Fdp%2FB00093DHIK&tag=cavesofnarshe-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325) is probably a better solution, especially for those of us who still have standard definition TVs. It comes with about 20 games built in and uses real, miniaturized Atari hardware to the point where you can even modify it to accept old cartridges. (http://www.atarimuseum.com/fb2hacks/) The PCB even has a little space on it that shows where to put the reader.
If I buy the game pack, can I legally burn ROMs for my 2600?
That is a good question. I haven't thought this through as much as the other way around. If you don't have to circumvent any digital restrictions management to place you in violation of the D.M.C.A, I know people can legally create one personal archival copy from any copies of software programs they legally own. (http://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/faq-digital.html) The outcome of several carious cases such as Sony vs. Connectix (http://digital-law-online.info/cases/53PQ2D1705.htm) show that it is quite possible to juxtapose a legally entitled copy onto another platform. It is for these reasons that I believe emulation of Atari 2600 games on a modern P.C. would be legal, if there was only a cartridge reader to take advantage of First Sale Doctrine.
There are too many variables for me to be absolutely certain about the other way around though, since I'm not aware of many precedents going in that direction. There are questions to be raised as to whether you can legally unbundle the ROM files from the App in question though. Only the copyright holder has the right to create a derivative work out of their software so if they're merely considered portions of the Atari's Greatest Hits, you might be out of luck since I doubt your Atari can read iO.S. Apps.
However it could theoretically be considered the same if it's argued that the ROM files constitute computer programs in and of themselves, entitling you to archive them individually. Pendent on how the App works it may also be argued that a .app file on your computer is merely a directory as is any folder or mounted disc volume allowing you to unbundle them and drop the unnecessary bagage, say if you have raw access to a subdirectory of raw ROMfiles. As mentioned above though, if DRM effectively prevents this access or if the ROMfiles are a directly stored as part of the iOS App's executable I doubt much could be done. There might be other unexpected avenues of finding fair use in this case, like how the Betamax Case assumes there was an invitation to use the content in a certain way but I'm hesitant to weigh in on that without prior precedent just due to how hazily Fair Use is applied within the context of the law.
I'm not sure if I can get back to you in a timely manner if ever but now you've piqued my curiosity so it's possible I'll be looking into this in the future...

Just upload it as an attachment. Click Reply, go to Additional Options and then Attach Files, and then click Manage Attachments. A small window will pop up. Click Browse, and find your pic. Upload it, Submit Reply and you're done.

I've been a very satisfied customer of .Mac since its inception. I receive zero spam e-mails and I am delighted with the ability to create aliases. On top of that there is no advertising at all. I also have a couple of other web-mail accounts and they get zillions of spam messages even with their respective anti-spam filters turned on. I think that this update adds a little bit more polish on an already decent offering. I do agree with a previous poster that the iCal integration needs some work.

I have 2 to 3 email addresses forwarded to my .mac account (those 2 to 3 do receive spam) but i still get very little in my Mail.app or webmail. good point, because if anyone has ever used hotmail, that crap gets annoying fast.

Just out of interest what do the other 10% use?
I'd assume the 'other' category would be a mix of Lightworks, Media100, Premiere Pro and maybe even Sony Vegas. Mizzurah posted a link to the most recent version of the survey I was trying to recall and it has Avid at 76%, FCP at just under 20% and 'other' w/just under 5%.

I got a weird bug. Sometimes my albums in the photos app go right to the top of the screen and show underneath the 'menubar' at the top so I can tap on it and open the first album in the list. If I pull it back down on the rubberband effect it still goes to the top of the screen?! I have to restart my phone for it to reset and its still hit and miss whether it works.
I have experienced this twice since upgrading to 4.3.1. I also have a strange bug (much more frequent) where the title bar in the Mail app periodically shows no text, and the arrow buttons to move to the previous screen show no text either. Strange, but more an annoyance than anything.

Any comments I make toward anyone are based on their actions, and the actions of any particular group to which they may belong that attacks people like me. If you find that to be disrespectful, well then I don't know what to tell you. There are plenty of people here who do that just as much as, if not more, than I.
Some of us are sick of taking crap from the majority and refuse to sit still for it any longer. I'm ****ing tired of it after 25 years of fighting it. Deal with it or don't. The choice is yours. u don't need .Mac to use iChat. you can use iChat with AIM account. and I keep hearing this rumor that MSN and Yahoo account might be added.
so sign up for a jabber account, and then use Transports to connect to MSN, Yahoo, AIM, ICQ, etc etc.
A lot of other services offer "simmilar" features, but none that i have seen/used/heard of offer the same integration that .Mac does.
